I have always been intrigued by fashion, but space made it difficult to sew clothes for myself. So, how do I still sew fashion? My models are very, very small! I am an Asian Ball-Jointed Doll enthusiast, which are dolls that are geared to be in very realistic human proportions, completely poseable and customizable. This includes their clothing. I have a small model team of my own, and I not only sew for them, but as an online business by commission, Swan Wing Designs. Click the link below for more information on Swan Wing Designs, otherwise, continue to see the pieces!

The dolls are from Asia, and so there are no American equivalents to go from. Therefore, I draft all of my own patterns. Though they have snaps instead of other fastenings, my clothes feature fully-functional pockets, sashes, or straps. My goal is to make these look like real clothing that has mysteriously become very small!

The large-scale versions are available if you click the image!

The Box of Me
Textiles, Painting, Beading
Completed May, 2006

While this isn't technically fashion, it is one of my textiles works. The box represented me, my past, present, and future. I constructed the box from cardboard, then sewed the fabric insides and outsides. The inside is padded velvet, and the outside is muslin. I painted and hand-beaded and embroidered the outside. The three pieces sitting outside are also hand-sewn, meant to go inside the box. The cube represented my past and all the movies/tv shows I watched as a child, the present is a doll; which I drafted the pattern for, clothed, and painted; and my future is, of course, a SCAD hoodie!
