RESOURCES

The EGL LiveJournal Community
The EGL LiveJournal Community is one of the largest, if not the largest Lolita community in English-speaking and Western countries! This links to the profile, so you can get a better understanding on how the community works. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!! :)

The Lolita Handbook
A WONDERFUL place to start for any beginning Lolita! features the dos, don'ts, and other tips so that you can fully enjoy the Lolita life!

Avant Gauche
A wonderful UK site with loads of information on Lolita, including scans, history, and more!

JAPANESE BRANDS

BABY, The Stars Shine Bright
One of my personal favorite brands- BABY is heavily SWEET Lolita, though their Black and White pieces could be goth, too. Check out their Alice and the Pirates series for more punk, piratey goodness! BABY has an incredible attention to detail, and they are so kind!

Angelic Pretty
Another personal favorite, Angelic Pretty is cute on acid. Known as one of the more over-the-top brands, AP shows NO qualms about popping cakes atop their lolita's heads and covering their gowns with sweet sugary confections. Mmm.

Innocent World
The more subdued Classic Lolita- very beautiful, subtle pieces. Perfect elegance! :)

Mary Magdalene
No affiliation with the Biblical figure, of course. Another Classic Lolita brand! Really lovely shapes, and pretty patterns.

Victorian Maiden
Another Classic Lolita brand, known for their really pretty patterns and impeccable tailoring.

Metamorphose temps de fille
Like BABY, Meta has several Lolita styles, but they are known for their candy-cute patterns, Sailor Coordinates, and nice accessories.

Moi-meme-Moitie
J-Rockstar MANA's brand, goth as it gets! Get ready for gorgeous blue gateways and blue roses awash in black!

h.NAOTO
A punk/goth clothier, some of their work coordinates well with Goth and Lolita- check out their BLOOD line.

Alice Auaa
A haunting, but beautiful Goth brand.

AMERICAN BRANDS
The new kids on the block, most American brands are small and seamstress-owned!

In the Starlight
One of the older American brands, owned by Miss Leah of EGL, she's gotten a very good reputation with American Lolita! It's a great place for Lolita to begin building up their foundations with good, strong pieces.

Candy Violet
Part of the amazing Vivcore collective, run by Miss Vivienne of EGL, a very talented seamstress. Home to all sorts of cute accessories and also has a good reputation with EGL.

Sweet Rococo
A brand-new American brand that a lot of Lolita are really excited about! Here, everything is custom-made, and you choose everything, from the fabrics, bows, lace, to the shape and rows of ruffles!! A ton of versatility here!

La Dauphine
A fresh new brand just starting out, run by the very talented Miss Victoria of EGL. Her work is amazing, and we can't wait to see more from her!

OTHER FUN LINKS

Aimee Major
Aimee is a woman I really admire- she's got her fingers in ALL sorts of pies- an animator, an authoress, a champion cosplayer, webmaven of the biggest English-speaking Asian Ball-Jointed Doll Forum- this woman's into everything! Authoress of Japan Ai, her art is ADORABLE, and you should go check her out!

Svetlana Chmakova
I am such a fangirl for this woman. When I see what she does, it gives me hope that I'm doing the right thing in my life. :) She's the authoress of Dramacon, arguably the best manga-styled Western comic I've read so far. She also publishes for other publications, and is overall rather amazing. Go see her nowwww...
